So impressed — something I would love to try

How cool is this? Sandy “Sam” Puc is the co-founder of Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep and an amazingly successful photographer. She rocked on her first skydiving jump. I am so envious!

My Best Friend + her kids

One would think that my best friend would get preferential treatment on my blog but clearly that isn’t the case here. It’s simply my memory and my lack of attention that she was ignored! Paige and her adorable kids, Connor and Caroline came to visit from the Eastern Shore in early August. They are hopefully going to surprise their dad with some portraits later this fall for his birthday or anniversary or some occasion!

Paige and I go way, way back to 11th grade (I have to say that now that I’m basically entering my 4th decade!) — I met her at my prep school, Mercersburg Academy in PA. The same school, if you’ll recall, where Jackson attended his first sleep-away camp this past July. Basically, Paige accosted me after field hockey practice one day during pre-season b/c I was so cool and she couldn’t resist being my friend. I get that all the time (wink, wink). So feeling sorry for her, I relinquished and we have been friends since. All kidding aside, she is one of my tried and true friends that will, without a doubt, be lifelong. We have our own language and jokes and even my husband will say, “I have no idea what you all are talking about or how you can talk for 8 hours straight”. It’s true, and there really isn’t anyone else I can do this with. Always someone, something or some issue to talk about. Tho, Paige has never been one to ‘make a long story short’, I tell her she is always making a “short story long” but I’m always entertained by her and love her stories. Love you Paige!!!

My boys with her kids…..what a crew!!

and the queens of chatter…

Kristen + Greg | engagement session

March 2009 seems so far away! But that’s when Kristen and Greg are getting hitched! We did their engagement session a couple weekends ago in Old Town and were spared TOO much terrible heat. August has been mild for the DC area. They are having wedding+reception at Celebrations on the Bay in Pasadena, MD and I’m thrilled as I love that part of MD. My family goes boating out of there quite often and I look forward to seeing this venue for the first time! Greg and Kristen know how to ham it up for the camera so I’m pretty confident their big day will be NO problem for portraits! Whew!!!!

Baby Ryan

Normally, I don’t like to shoot babies that are in-between the newborn and the sitting up, or at least holding their head up-phase, but we tried with Ryan. He was about 10 weeks here and his mom is headed back to work this week so we wanted to do this asap. He did great and we were able to do awake shots as well as sleepy baby pix. I am envious of all my mom’s with their babies and this is no exception. I feel so blessed to be able to hang around so many new moms and their precious ones. Reminds me of how lucky I am with my two boys and brings back a flood of memories of my boys’ tiny days.
